Pioneer Again
Since 1812 Wesley Mission has been serving Sydney and its people, doing all the good we can, because every life matters. We’ve pioneered new services, planted new churches and reached new communities in our passion to continue the work of Jesus Christ in Word and deed. By God’s grace, we’ve grown alongside Sydney and NSW.
And now God is calling us to pioneer again, as we launch Wesley Western Sydney – a dynamic, multicultural, multigenerational church excited to serve Australia’s fasted growing region, where more than 2.7 million people now live.
Wesley Western Sydney
The vision for Wesley Western Sydney is to be a Spirit-led, disciple-making movement. Wesley Western Sydney will join the eight other Wesley congregations located in the city, Macquarie Park and Sylvania in pursuing this God-breathed vision.

A Spirit-led, disciple-making community.
We are a people who have experienced the compassionate love of Jesus, and who seek to extend that love to others – wherever, however, and whomever, especially those doing it tough.
Captivated by Jesus’ vision for a New World renewed and remade, a world marked by freedom and liberty, we will passionately advocate for justice, seeking to amplify the voices of those pushed and squeezed to the margins.
Always persevering, never giving up – resilient in our resolve to do good, share the Good News of Jesus, and to make disciples.
Humble in recognizing the mission we are called to is God’s, not ours, and that it will be only in God’s strength, bathed in prayer, and with the wind of the Spirit in our sails that we will we fulfill God’s vision for us.
We are prayerfully discerning the launch location for Wesley Western Sydney, but believe God is calling us to pioneer somewhere in the dynamic Parramatta region. There are all sorts of opportunities and possibilities we will be actively exploring!
Wesley Western Sydney’s leadership will be drawn from a core team formed from Wesley’s existing congregations, and others God calls to join us. Key leadership (Pastors) will be called and confirmed by June 2024. Rev Stu Cameron, the CEO and Superintendent for Wesley Mission, will be a part of the leadership team, and involved week to week. Prior to his role at Wesley Mission, Stu was the Lead Minister of Newlife Church based on the Gold Coast, a church-planting church that launched four churches under Stu’s leadership and continues to pioneer today.
Wesley Western Sydney will be launched under the spiritual oversight of the Wesley Mission Council, and in partnership with the NSW Synod of the Uniting Church and the Presbytery of Sydney and the Presbytery of Parramatta-Nepean.
Wesley Western Sydney will be officially launched, God-willing, in the first few months of 2025. Between now and then, we will identify and discern our launch location, pastoral leadership and form our core launch team. We aim to announce leadership and location by May 2024. From June 2024 onwards, we will be holding a series of interest nights, prayer and worship events and small groups preparing for our official launch.

Since our foundation in 1812, Wesley Mission has been supported by the sacrificial generosity of so many people. Wesley Western Sydney will require seed and ongoing funding.
